Benefits of Sunstone Swissy Club Membership:

  • Join a local community of Swissy enthusiasts and breeders

What your dues pay for:

  • Food and supplies at events

  • Enables the club to pay for insurance to host events

  • Club web site to inform, educate, and communicate about our breed locally

  • Administrative costs to run the club

  • Event facility rentals

Membership Types:

There are five types of membership open to all persons who are in good standing with the American Kennel Club and who subscribe to the purposes of this club.  While membership is to be unrestricted as to residence, the club’s primary purpose is to be representative of the breeders and exhibitors in its immediate area.

Owning a Swissy is a prerequisite for full membership status. Those who wish to join the club while on a waiting list for a puppy, or who want to learn more about the GSMD, may join as Associate Members for $15 a year.  Associate Members are not eligible to vote or hold office in the Sunstone GSMD Club.

  • Individual Membership ($25/year) is available to anyone 18 years of age or older who resides in the Club's area. This membership has full privileges of Club membership, including one vote, and the ability to hold office. Member must own a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog. Application must also carry the endorsement of two SGSMDC members.

  • Household Membership ($30/year) has the same requirements as the regular membership and is further defined to include two (2) members of the same household. Each member receives one vote.

  • Associate Membership ($15/year) is for anyone who is ineligible for regular or household membership, but desires to work in association with this Club's interests. Associate members shall have the same privileges as regular and household, except they are ineligible to vote or hold office. This membership type is ideal for the person interested in more information on the breed or reside outside of the Club's designated area.

  • Junior Membership ($10/year)  is open to persons under 18 years of age. The member shall enjoy all the privileges except voting or holding office. Junior members do not count when determining a quorum. This membership may automatically convert to regular membership at age 18.

  • Puppy Membership (free for 1st year) has the same requirements as the Individual membership and is further defined to be available to anyone who owns a GSMD under the age of 12 months. This membership may automatically convert to regular membership the following Club year.
